    Description

    Rare and massive brazier hook.Such hooks were traditionally used in wealthy farmers houses and were suspended from the ceiling over the traditional iron hearth.  Beautifully carved from a solid piece of Keyaki wood (japanese zelkova) , perhaps most desirable hard wood in Japan, known for its strength and beautiful grain. A very beautiful patination on wood surface  developed over the years of usage and constant smoke from the hearth.
